In 1953, my grandfather, William Campbell, began manufacturing his own brand of custom made mattresses & box springs to a specific standard. I continue that same practice today.
I begin with an all steel coil innerspring unit. Next I staple a two ounce insolation pad to both sides of the innerspring unit. An eyelet border is then hand sewn to the mattress, which then receives two layers of cotton felt padding on both sides. We do not use any foam products in the construction of our mattresses or box springs. A blue and white striped cotton ticking is then sewn to the unit. The mattress is then completed by hand tufting with buttons. We use the same quality products to construct our box springs.
At Sunset Mattress Factory, we have always believed in manufacturing our mattresses with the same quality materials on both sides. This allows the consumer to turn and flip their mattress periodically to help extend the life, as well as, the comfort and support of the mattress.
